The Creative at Create Fixate

Some of my favorite pieces from the show. I loved how these were sewn down on the wood.
These are done on canvas and wood. Love it so much.

This piece is a photograph with mixed media. The feathers were actually real. This image is very raw.

Cool guy style. He had cut the sleeves of the jacket. I hate that I didn't get the shoes. I am so ready for fall. I need to invest in more scarves.

This is actually a ring. How cool is that?

Flowers and Sequins

I am wearing a vintage sequins top, Current Elliot skinny slouch, Ann D belt, BNY sandals, and a Tano bag.
I just love this sequins top. This is one of the many sequined finds that. I am addicted to sequins dresses, tops, pants, jackets, and shoes. It's like really major in my life. It can be to big or to small and I will buy it. Luckily I find these things at such great prices and the addiction has started long before it was "fashionable."

Inspired By Isabel Marant

Images: Style.com

Dress: Alexander Wang, Boots: Fiorentini + Baker, Bag: Balenciaga, Jacket: Target
I am in love with the Isabel Marant's Spring collection. I can't wait to see fall. Now I am trying to see what I have in my closet to resemble some of these awesome looks. There are so many of them that you would have to check out style.com for more looks. I am trying to save money for vacations and upcoming sales so, what better thing to do is to shop the closet. I have so many clothes that I just have to recycle my looks and only buy things that enhance what I already have. More closet looks to come.

In The Pink

Dress: Alexander Wang, Jacket: Rose Bowl Flea Market, Boot: Prada, Gladiators: Jeffrey Campbell, Vest: Solemio

I was inspired by an outfit in Vogue. I thought, I have the dress and I have a similar jacket, now all I have to do is create this from my closet. I also wore this ensemble to work and needed to tone it down for the daytime so I chose a vest that is faux leather and grey that I picked up at a cute store on Abbot Kinney, in Venice, called Princepessa. I love the pink right now and it is a hot color to wear with black. Check out the Alexander Wang spring.

Suiting For Your Pleasure

Jacket: Alice and Olivia, Pants: Twinkle, Tee: Barneys Men's, Shoes: Bakers, Scarf: Flea Market

I saw these Twinkle Pants in a Lucky magazine in grey and I ended up getting the black ones for Christmas. They have a tuxedo detail at the waist and they are awesome. One of my many different types of style is men's wear. I find it very sexy and comfortable. It's one of those looks that I think is timeless and has power behind it. It's fun to take a timeless look and update with some gladiator sandals.

Auf Wiedersehen

Dress: Vena Cava, Jacket: Vintage CK, Sweater: Barneys, Tee: LAMB, Belt: Dries Van Noten, Shoes: Sam Edelman, Bag: Balenciaga

This was my friend Rozonna's going to New York dinner party and of course had to dress. Why so many layers? It was freezing. Just one of those L.A. weather moments when one day it's 80 and the next it's 50. We had an awesome time though at Manchego's, a Spanish tapas restaurant in Santa Monica on Main. It was delicious and the atmosphere was very quaint.

Balmain Inspiration Part Deux

Jacket: Flea Market, Jeans: Target, Tee: Target, Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell, Messenger Bag: Barneys New York

I am definitely obsessed with Balmain. I love that I stumbled upon these jeans that I've been dying to find at Target, and for the price I thought why not. The best thing to do with trends is find them at a discount. The only splurge in this outfit is the bag and shoes.

What I am Wearing

Sweater: Barney's New York, Jeans: January, Tunic: L.A.M.B., Shoes: Minnetonka, Necklace: Natalie B.

Todays Duds for a relax day at work.

Top: Bull Couture, Slouchy Pants: Zara, Shoes: Sam Edelman, Necklace: F21

I just got this top from a cute store in my area called Bull Couture. It has incredible lace detailing and a touch of feminity in the ruffling. I just love that victorian edge with a little M.C. Hammer pant action going on. The boots were an amazing deal at Macy's so I couldn't pass them up.

Get It Fixed

Dress: Cynthia Vincent Twelfth Street, Sweater: Barneys New York, Shoe: Minnetonka, Glasses: Tom Ford, Wood Necklace: Aphrodite
I got this dress at the Barney's Warehouse sale this past month. My favorite thing to do is get the things that are as is and get it fixed. I save a lot of money and get the cutest things ever. Stay tune for the Alexander Wang dresses and Rocco P. Boots. The best thing about shopping is be very selective and try stores that you wouldn't go to. I find a lot of great things at Loehmans. Another good source for goodies are boutiques during sale. Look for items that work with other items in your closet to compliment or spice up. Don't let shopping be a chore but, a fun experience of finding fashion booty.

Inspiration Balmain

Loved this look since the first time I laid eyes on it.

Look at this fabulous military style jacket and the jeans are to die for, if you can afford 2 grand a pair.

Here's my find it yourself. I still am looking for the perfect acid wash jeans. These jeans I bought from the men's side at Barneys and decided to go big and make them into slouchy skinny style boyfriend jean. My alterations gal did amazing job in getting the jeans a bit more skinnier. The jacket was found at the Rose Bowl Flea Market. I thought I was dreaming. It cost only 10.00 dollars ( oh and the jeans were 8.00 dollars plus alterations).

My sister and I went shopping at the Grove in L.A. and stumbled upon these Jeffrey Campbell look a-likes. I yelled Balmain, I have to have those. Viola the look complete.

Leader Of The Band

Jacket: Karen Kane Vintage, Top: Silk Vintage, Pants: Zara, Shoe: Barneys New York, Necklace: Aphrodite

I loved the military style jackets and wanted to find a vintage one so bad, back in 2007 I was hoping to find one that was vintage and I did. I was so ecstatic that my heart was palpitating so hard I almost fainted. I haven't found another yet, but I surely hope so. I love the deals at Zara and I found so many slouchy pants for so cheap I bought like 6 pairs. It's unbelievable how half of this outfit is vintage.

In The Closet

Dress: Meghan, Shoes: Fornarina, Fur Vest: Vintage, Necklace: Vintage, Belt: Nicholas K
I went out the other night for a friends birthday at a sushi resturaunt and thought why not bring out something from the closet. As a recessionista you have to play with the things that you already have. So I decided on this kimono style dress by Meghan.

Highly Waisted

I finally got to wear my high waisted Grey Ants. I am a curvy girl so, sometimes I feel a little Boom Boom but, who cares. I went to Loehmans after visiting a few of the boutiques around town. Even though everybody is 75% off, I still feel that 75 of 400 is still 100. I'm a reccessionista and I am looking for the real true bargains. I got 5 great items at Loehmans for 100 bucks. 2 Whitley Kros tops, Marc by Marc Jacobs skirt, Ali Ro blouse (shown above), and some amazing wide legged pants by Rory Beca.

This is the back side. I just love exposed zippers. It's a crop bloused and went perfect with the Grey ant Jeans.

Jeans, Grey Ant: Blouse, Ali Ro: Necklace, Vintage: Blazer, Vintage; Shoes, Vintage DKNY

Today's Diggs

Jeans, Paper Denim: Blouse, Velvet: Jacket, Vintage: Boots Dumond
This was today's work outfit. I thought it was best to start wearing more of the things that I have and really incorporate a lot of the old with the new, such as the vintage velvet jacket. Sometimes at night I think of different things that I have and how I would wear them and say to myself, " I don't need another thing but what happens is I don't really listen to self. This is the L.A. uniform for winter, boots and skinnies.

It's Almost Winter Time

Dress: Tucker
Scarf: Barney's New York
Vest: Solomio
Boots: Nine West
Belt: Nicholas K
The great thing about the economy is the great sales. I got this great dress at the Fred Segal sale in Hollywood. Not only did I stumble upon that one, there were many more. During my time in Venice last week, I stroll along Abbot Kinney and scoured some of the great shops along the street. The vest I found at a cute shop called Principessa. Everytime I go there I find something fun and unique and for a great deal. That's the great thing about them it has all price ranges. This fashionista is now a recessionista and doing it with style.

Venice Film Festival

BlackCat at the Venice Film Festival

The Band Performing

Vest: From Princepessa
Dress: Iro at Fred Segal
Boots: From my closet
Bag: Balenciaga

I was the bands photographer that night. Fun and very hot. I felt like I was doing yoga in a sauna. But, it was fun and I enjoy supporting my friends whom are very talented folk. The food was amazing and I just loved the chocolate covered strawberries.

I have new and amazing vintage finds. I will try to post some soon most of it needs a lot of altering. Can't wait to post.
