Sequins And Fur

This was an outfit that I wore for a Christmas dinner party.
I was ecstatic when my sister brought this dress home from a
local thrift store in the area. Usually this area isn't conducive to
amazing finds. But, I was so excited to see this sequins, 80's, bohemian
style dress. I thought the perfect thing to wear with it is my new
rabbit coat/ vest.

Floral Fever

Dress: Marc Jacobs

Jacket: Nicholas K

Boots: NineWest

This was my outfit for the Create Fixate Show that was a week ago. Yeah I am slow. Life can be very busy and one can get very lazy. I will try to keep up with the post. I just love this dress. It is amazing and so luscious in person. I just love the colors and even though it is spring 08, I did try to incorporate a little winter with tights, boots, and the leather jacket.

Furtastic

I must say, it's time to pull out all the furs. I love the leather fur combo with the matching bag. If there is anything that I desire in the fall, it's grey leather mixed with fur. This outfit is so simple but, yet so tres stylish. I need!

I Want Boots

Boots: Bakers Shoes
Uhhh! Me love these boots so much. They remind me of the Gucci's. They are definitely a lust must.

Stylish Youth Inspiration

Photo: Seaofshoes
Jane has such amazing style and she kind of reminds me of myself when I was younger. She takes so many fashion risks and it works. It's fun and it sets you apart from everyone else. I love her taste in high fashion. Though some of us may not be able to afford such exquisite luxurious, there is still room for expression of great taste and great style. I admire someone like her.
Here's a tip about luxury. You can find so much at great sales. Daily Candy is one great way of finding what's out there in your area and only shopping at the end of the season for the deals at your favorite boutiques or department stores. Go to warehouse sales and put yourself on lists, so that you are first to know upcoming events. Another thing to do is to save your money on the things that are going to have a lasting impression and always use your creativity. I think from there it just flows.

Indie Girl

MOMA Film Gala Honoring Baz Luhrmann
Yahoo Movies

Maggie Gyllenhaal has to be one of my favorite actresses, alongside Parker Posey, whom I just adore. Look how adorable her style is. She has the most incredible style and she is always put together. She is one of those girly girls. So, I chose this pix because I lust after that amazing fur and chic LBD. Check out her movies, one of my favorites is The Secretary. It's cute in a dark romantic way. Oh and the clothes are cute as well.

History Is Made

Image: www.barack obama.com
Yes history has been made and what a tears of joy. I love the stories told by my mother and grandmother about all the things that they went to and saw so much change throughout their years.
I remember my mother telling me how she went to jail back in college for protesting with Rev. Jackson in the civil rights march. To hear stories of struggle and now see such amazing triumph is awesome and I am so proud to be an American. Being an African American, I have been so amazed at how so many white Americans have been so supportive and have seen racial barriers starting to crumble. I was drawn to tears to see how globally this election has emotionally effected so many other countries and I see us moving into a brighter direction, a brighter future. God bless America and it's progress.

I am so in love with this jumper by Sonia Rykiel. It's like I need and want it in my life. I think to myself, self what can I do to get this jumper. I simply just love the way it flows and it's so casual but, yet sophisticated. On the other hand, I need to have that rock n roll lovely above as well. Cure me please.

It's Almost Winter Time

Dress: Tucker
Scarf: Barney's New York
Vest: Solomio
Boots: Nine West
Belt: Nicholas K
The great thing about the economy is the great sales. I got this great dress at the Fred Segal sale in Hollywood. Not only did I stumble upon that one, there were many more. During my time in Venice last week, I stroll along Abbot Kinney and scoured some of the great shops along the street. The vest I found at a cute shop called Principessa. Everytime I go there I find something fun and unique and for a great deal. That's the great thing about them it has all price ranges. This fashionista is now a recessionista and doing it with style.

I just love this look. I love the hair and the way she has this hard but, girly soft look. I wonder who the dress is by. Maybe I can come up with the same look. Well, stay tune it just might be possible.

Vintage Style

Jeans: Vintage Levi's
Top: Vintage
Shoes: Deloris & Maxine
Hat: Forever 21
Sometimes it's just fun to bring out what's in the closet. Since I did the biggest shopping spree that I have ever done in the history of my life, at the BNY warehouse sale, I really need to get creative with what is in my closet. Seriously, I have some serious fashion issues. It's really never enough. It's just so much damn fun that it's addicting. Thrifting isn't about what I find but, the hunt of the find. When you love something so much and feel a creative flow, you just have to indulge a little and show what you got. I love being inspired by so many different creative aspects.

Hells Kitchen

Dress: Phillip Lim 3.1
Bag: Balenciaga
Sweater: L.A.M.B.
Shoes: Charlotte
My peeps and I decided to try Chef Ramsey's restaurant in West Hollywood. Yum a ding dong it is amazing. I love everything about this place down to the decor, service, views, and especially the food. The bag is one of my great purchases lately. The greatest thing about shopping is finding it at a great deal and believe me this is one of them. AAHHH! The great motorcycle bag that I have been longing for.

Fun Night Out

Yellow Jacket: Vintage CK
Jeans: Paper Denim
Dress worn as top: Jovovich-Hawk
Shoes: Matiko

My friend and I decided to have a girls night out. It's fun hanging out with her because she is always down for taking photos in weird places. I get a vision for something or somewhere and it's on. Sorry haven't been around lately but, work was fast paced and I had a lot of fun being out of town for it. Even though out of town is actually 40 miles away. I now need to focus on some new photo equipment so that I can take my own photos. I don't really have anyone to do it for me but, myself, unless I am out and about with friends. Looking forward to some pretty cool shots coming up. I have so many photo toys but, I need a few small things like a memory card for my 35mm. Than, it's on.

Effortless Chic

Photo Cred: Face Hunter
Something about the fur that makes me croon. It's a must find, a must have.

Bye Bye Jovovich-Hawk

Oh my heart is so sad. I love jovovich-hawk. Why O Why do they have to go. Luckily I own a few pieces and that makes me happy. They had the most beautiful clothes and cleverly designed with such a feminine touch. You always felt like a girl. Hopefully they will bounce back into our lives like Kateyone Adeli did. You were much loved ladies

Lanvin

Shoes: Lanvin at Barney's New York

My new fabulous purchase, Lanvin ballerina flats in brown leather and black patent. Hello beautiful shoe. We will be wearing you all summer, fall, and winter long. I am notorious in thrashing shoes to the bare minimal but, when you love something so much it is well worth the price. I got these shoes for 75% off the original price, now that's a steal.

Dulcinee N.Y.C.

Photography: Rinze Van Brug
Styling: Anett Gabriel
I discovered this awesome store in the new Nylon mag. Dulcinee NYC is a high end vintage store store that carries the most amazing pieces by some of the most coveted designers. The boutique is owned by Mauren Leon and is located in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. The appeal is very early 1900's these looks are so delicious and lovely. I love the flirty girl inspired looks and pieces. Being a photographer I was in love with the editorial of the stores website and had to check out Rinze and Anett. These are some of the most talented people and between all three of them have amazing since of taste and style.

Today's Outfit

Dress: Diane Von Furstenburg
Shoes: Jeffdrey Campbell
Tuxedo Jacket: Vintage
Belt: Dries Van Noten

I was inspired by a look that people found hard to pull off at my work. Countless women would try this dress on and to no avail would put it back. So, I decided that I would have to purchase this ensemble and try to make it work. I thought why not pair it with this Dries Van Noten belt and my fringe glads. I was so impressed by how amazing this dress worked out that I bought it and decided to wear it to work. I actually sold this whole look to another girl who thought of buying it before but thought that it was just to much fabric. Well over the past couple of days since I bought it it has sold out. I can't take 100% of the credit but, it sure felt good to see someone be inspired by a little ole challenge of mine.
